天下皆知
“When the world knows beauty as beauty, ugliness arises. When it knows good as good, evil arises. Being and non-being give rise to each other.”
天下皆知美之为美，斯恶已；皆知善之为善，斯不善已。故有无相生，难易相成，长短相形，高下相倾，音声相和，前后相随。是以圣人处无为之事，行不言之教。万物作焉而不辞，生而不有，为而不恃，功成而弗居。夫唯弗居，是以不去。
Nothing exists in isolation. Joy and sorrow, success and failure — each defines the other. When you accept both, you find peace in the middle.
此章揭示对立的统一性。
王弼注：'喜怒同根，是非同门，故不可得而偏举也。
' 美丑、善恶、有无、难易、长短、高下、前后——皆相对而生。
圣人处无为之事：非不作为，乃不妄为、不偏执。
行不言之教：身教重于言传。
