视之不见
“Looked at but not seen — it is beyond form. Listened to but not heard — it is beyond sound. Grasped at but not touched — it is beyond reach.”
视之不见名曰夷,听之不闻名曰希,搏之不得名曰微。此三者不可致诘,故混而为一。其上不皦,其下不昧,绳绳不可名,复归于无物。是谓无状之状,无物之象,是谓惚恍。迎之不见其首,随之不见其后。执古之道,以御今之有。能知古始,是谓道纪。
The most important things cannot be seen, heard, or touched. Trust what you feel even when you cannot prove it. Intuition is a form of knowing.
夷(视不见)、希(听不闻)、微(搏不得)——道超越三种感官。
混而为一——三者在道中合一。
无状之状无物之象——恍惚之境。
执古之道以御今之有——用亘古不变的智慧应对当下的具体问题。
道纪——道的纲纪、规律。
